Chloe. I had a thought and somewhat of a question...

What are your thoughts about doing private investigation here in the Quarantine?

The police force seems largely quiet so far as I can tell but I'd thought striking out may work a little more toward keeping me occupied.

I've never really thought about it, honestly. My bag is homicide, so I don't know how much traction or authority either of us would have in that regard. I'd be willing to discuss the idea more, though.

Yes, that was my concern as well. Being in inspector I've covered many different types, it's just..

I think what brings this up is a while ago someone approached me independently re: someone pushing suspicious drugs and etc. They decided not to pursue it, but I wonder if people may be more will to approach us if we're not proper 'law enforcement' so to speak.

Some people seem to have a 'thing' regarding that.

A distrust of law enforcement was pretty common where I'm from too. Did they specify why going to the cops wasn't something they wanted? Most of the people here seem to be pretty responsive, as far as I can tell. Even PI work would involve working with the department to some extent, after all.

No, it wasn't him that really had a problem. He backed down when I asked if he would be willing to go along with it for a little while as a fact finding mission. I would have done it myself but, really, I don't think I'd stand a chance blending in with those types.

It just seems to be a more general trend. I think I noticed it here because it's not at all like that in my world. Or, wasn't, I should say.

True. I don't mind the department, so to speak, but having only done department work I'd also like to know what it's like to work on your own.

Tell you what. I don't plan on leaving the department at this time, but how about I help you with it on a part-time basis for now? Sort of like a trial run. Is that doable?

[They'll certainly have much to talk about, between this PI business and, if pressed, her newfound abilities. Who knows -- may even be helpful for whatever they're doing.]
