[She felt him there, unobtrusive but obviously present, those soft silky strands brushing across his hand as she turned to smile at him. The entire tone and air to their night had changed, what once was a breezy and teasing atmosphere turning into something a little more charged, a bit more tentative and heavy.]

You've been alive since the dawn of time.

[The barest of objections, not so much meant to accuse him otherwise but more of an observation. But she could say the same to him. Until I met you applied to so many things between them.

The elevator made a quiet ding before the doors slid open, and she carefully tugged at him to guide him inside with her.]

[He let her take his hand, let her draw him into the small space as he turned to press the button to their floor. Then he gave her his full attention.]

I have. I've seen... well. Almost everything, I imagine. And yet you still surprise me. You have me excited in more than just the physical aspect of... us. I love watching you, seeing how your mind works. Watching you feel things. I've always liked humans, but you are special. You make me feel alive.

[She listened to him quietly, some small part of her recognizing how close they were and how the empty space of the elevator made his voice seem louder, more clear. Or maybe she was just hanging on every word. Either way, she stood there with him as the elevator slowly climbed to their destination, her heart beating so loud in her chest she's sure he could hear it if he listened.]

Well. Consider me honored that after everything you've seen of the universe, I'm still able to give you something new and worth experiencing. You deserve to feel that way all the time.

Is that so?

[The elevator wasn't even halfway up to their floor when he stepped in, a hand sliding around her waist. The boots gave her a little more height, something he adjusted to as he pulled her in flush against himself.]

And what do you think you deserve to feel, Detective?

Is this supposed to be some clever way to get me to reveal my deepest, darkest desires?

[She was used to craning her neck to look at him, so the added height momentarily jarred her as his face came directly into her view. She could feel the warmth of him through their clothes, the weight of his fingers resting against her waist as he pulled her in towards him. Her heart continued to race at his question, a small smile lifting the corners of her lips as her hands drifted up to touch his face.]

Right now, I'm just going with this.

[She tried to guide his face toward her, lips hovering over his as she leaned in to kiss him.]

[He didn't answer her in words, instead moving in to let her initiate that kiss. That heavy press of need was still weighing on him, the tension almost palpable in the small elevator, but he was trying so hard to keep himself in check. They were so close to where he could get her behind a lockable door and whatever they wanted to happen could happen with no interruptions. So close... and yet her lips were so tempting...]

[She'd long determined that she liked the feel of him pressed up against. The way his stubble felt against her hands and lips as they kissed, how the heat of him bore down on her when he'd dragged his lips across her neck and chest in that stairwell. And still that energy thrummed between them, something both distant yet inevitable even as she tilted her head back, breathing quietly in that small space as she looked up at him.]

[He wanted her. That didn't surprise him as much as how much he wanted her did. How this promise of things to come and all their past interruptions had him tempted to just throw the next person or thing that tried to get between them right now off the bloody roof. And that small honest part that was true even to himself told him he wasn't entirely sure he was joking at the moment.

His hand cupped her cheek, his thumb tracing just along the corner of those generous lips, his own eyes dark and wide and full of all the things he wanted to do. All those needs he'd had and ached from, still ached from as he felt her along the front of himself.]

Almost there...

[It was that promise of privacy that had him keeping from pressing her up against the wall then and there, that flick of his eyes over to see they were only a few floors away. So close...]

Yeah.

[Spoken softly as she watched him eye their progress, mirroring the anticipation she felt. They'd be alone soon. Wholly alone, with no one popping in or surprising them with sudden interruptions. And yet this felt different than a couple nights ago, when they'd been needy and clinging to each other. Maybe it was the way he looked at her with such a sweet kind of longing she almost didn't know if he realized it was there, or the way his thumb gently traced over her lip even when she could feel the evidence of his want resting hard and rigid against her hip.

Unable to help herself, she kissed at the pad of his thumb, watching him all the while. Two... one more floor away...]

[A soft laugh as he felt her lips at his thumb.]

If you're trying to test my control, you're doing a very good job of it.

[And it was only because he knew they were there that he was able to keep himself from giving into that raging need that was rising and shaking through him. The doors dinged open and he let out another shaky sigh, gesturing for her to precede him.]

The suite to the left, love.

[Unlike the Lux, this didn't open up into the suite proper, which was probably for the best as the notion of someone coming upon them mid-play would have that raw, angry side ready to react. He slipped a keycard out of his pocket, holding it up for her.]

Not anymore than usual.

[Quipped back with their usual brand of humor as she slid her hand back into his and guided him out of the elevator, turning in the direction he told her. Some distant part of her couldn't help but be grateful for the added walk, remembering what it felt like for that stewardess to bound in on them. At the time she thought it'd been for the best, but now, all she cared about was being alone with him.

Once they reached their suite, she turned to take the keycard from him, fumbling with it for the barest of moments before the door unlocked and opened up for them.]

You really went all out for a 'just in case', didn't you?

Better to have and not need than need and not have.

[He followed in after, taking in the light perfume of the candles that were the only source of light at the moment, the champagne chilling in a bucket with glasses alongside it and a plate of edible little goodies that looked tasty - though, not as tasty as her. There were lightly billowing curtains that led out to a patio with the aforementioned pool, and soft carpeting that covered the floor. The bed was a beast of a thing that drew the eye, bits of red and black standing out on the darker black silk of the sheets, rose petals of the same type as the one he'd given her sprinkled over it. Soft music played and Lucifer closed the door behind them, pleased with the arrangement so far.]

Do you like it?

[He never did anything halfway, that was for sure. Sometimes that went well, other times it didn't, especially when it involved a case. But as she walked in and took in the elegance of the suite, brushed her fingers casually along the sheets of the bed and the petals resting there, she couldn't help but be impressed at all the effort he'd put into this. He certainly didn't have to.

At his question, she chuckled softly and turned to look at him.]

Mm, it's beautiful. Almost a little too beautiful. [A smile.] Thank you.

Is there such a thing?

[He watched her with that nervous sort of anticipation, not entirely certain she'd appreciate the effort -- or even want it. Then she turned to him and smiled and he felt like a weight had been lifted off him. He smiled back, slowly closing the distance between them.]

There's bubbly, if you'd like it. Or something sweet to eat. Or... not?

[She watched him slowly approach her and waited patiently until he was within reaching distance, feeling a brief brush of amusement at all of his questions. At him giving her so many options to choose from.]

Not is fine.

[She'd drank enough for now during dinner, and she wasn't in the mood for treats. Not when he was so close and all she wanted to do was draw in closer, which was what she did, reaching for his hands as she leaned in again. An unspoken offer for him to kiss her again, if he wanted to take it.]

[He'd have to be more of a masochist than he was not to take that offer, the step into her paired with him drawing her closer as his mouth came down on hers. There was a small tremor that shot through him, something in his mind screaming 'FINALLY' as he slid his tongue past her lips to tease hers, one hand coming up to get lost in her hair.

The time for teasing was done. He wanted to claim her, to be claimed. Quarantine better hope that nothing happened to deter them any longer, because Lucifer only had so much control.]

[Her arms wound around his neck as he drew her in and took claim of her lips, hands tightly clasped in his suit; whether it was to ground herself in the wake of his intensity or to drag him closer was unclear, but she had no notion of anything other than the feel of him against her. Of the way his hands tangled in her hair and his tongue teased at her already reddened lips.

She kissed him back with little finesse, instead focusing on what felt good, on how tilting her head brought a whole new depth and angle to the way his mouth fit against hers.]

[He made a low guttural sound when she gave him another angle to kiss her at, the hand in her hair cupping her head and the one at her waist sliding down to rest over that tempting curve of her ass. She was right; it didn't take much to turn him on when it came to her and he'd been mostly hard for the majority of the evening. Now, he was at that painful aching stage, that too-hard part of him pressing in against her as if he could get some modicum of relief from it.]

[She loved that. Loved that she could make him get to that point of needy. Have him grasping and pulling and making that low growl in the back of his throat as he rubbed against her. She could feel the rigid length of him against her and trembled a bit as her hands slowly pulled away from around his neck to tug at the lapels of his suit in an insistent request.]

[The last thing he wanted was to take his hands from her, but the small part of his brain assigned to logic stated that clothing removal was sort of integral to this, so he found the strength to pull his hands away, to jerk them up to the sides of his jacket and start to tug it off. Then came the buttons on his waistcoat, then the buttons of his shirt. All fumbled and speedily done before he was grasping at her again, a hand at her face while the other was trying to shove off his undone clothes.]

[One moment he'd been separated from her and the next she was once again in the demanding circle of his arms, though it was tempered by the sharp contrast of his hand touching her face so gently, like she was made of spun glass. Her fingers eagerly explored him, sought him out in the wake of that brief loss before they smoothed over the bare skin of his belly, moving up higher to caress his chest.]

Chloe...

[Her name slipped past his lips like a prayer as his mouth started to drag over her jaw, down to her neck. He nibbled and kissed, licking at her pulse and earlobe, tasting as much of her as he could as he felt the intensity of her touching his bare skin. One arm was free of his shirt and vest, the cloth dangling from the shoulder of the other one before he switched which hand was touching her, dropping his clothing to the ground before he had both hands on her, pulling her in against him by her hips.]

Uh huh.

[She felt her breath catch in her throat, gasping the vague agreement into the thin air as his lips blazed across her skin. He touched her like he was laying claim to her, writing his name over her pulse and tasting her as if he wanted to memorize her for later. She watched him clumsily shrug out of his clothes with a giddy, almost surreal kind of amusement, not used to seeing Lucifer Morningstar do anything clumsily, much less when it involved taking off his clothes. And then he was tugging her back in and she couldn't help but gasp as her hips collided with his. And suddenly the layers of clothes between them felt more than a little stifling.]

Wait, wait— here.

[Regretfully, she pulled away from him and walked backwards until the back of her knees hit the bed, sitting atop the sheets as her hands moved down to start removing her boots.]

No.

[He moved forward quickly, stopping her hand and kneeling down in front of her on the floor. His breathing was quick and coming in little pants, but there was something he wanted. Something that made him feel that much more elated as he reached to replace her hand on the zipper with his.]

Allow me. Please.

[For the barest of moments, she's confused, her mind lost in the fog of him and everything they were doing before she came back to herself. Realized what he wanted.]

Okay.

[She watched him kneel before her and gently take her hand away; she let him, both arms propping her up on the bed as she held out her boot for him.]
