You weren't ignoring me the other night. And parts of me remember that.
[Still playing with his wine, he was enjoying watching her pull that 'I'm too prudish for this chat' wall down, all the while knowing that she decidedly wasn't.]
[She opened her mouth to speak when their waiter came back, pouring them each a glass of water and making sure Lucifer's was filled to the top. Giving them each a look before leaving again.]
Uh huh. Though to be fair, it's not really difficult to get those parts of you going.
[He ignored the waiter, because Chloe was the important part of this conversation. He looked at the glass, snickering as he took a bite of his meal again.]
What can I say, love? All my parts are enamored of you.
[Lobbed back at him easily enough, because while she knew giving him the attention he so craved might've only been asking for more, she was genuinely having a good time. And expecting Lucifer not to be wholly inappropriate at the dinner table was like asking a fish not to swim.]
You want to nickname it? Well, that requires you to pet it first.
[Another bite and Lucifer found that his appetite for food was mostly sated. Pushing his plate away, he sat back with his foot hooking around her ankle, sipping at his wine.]
[She followed suit, finishing up while taking one more sip of her wine before settling the glass down with a definitive clink. Her foot was currently locked in place with his, and so she went about doing the dangerous thing by brushing up along his leg with her other one.]
You do love your attention. Anyhow, you good to go? Or did you need a moment to collect yourself?
[She's teasing, but she understood the obvious act of him giving her a choice there. And for a moment, she considered it, weighing what she wanted and also wondering what he might expect of her.
And when she spoke, the choice seemed easy enough, and she didn't need a pretense.]
[And still, when she said that, he found himself blinking a bit in surprise before a slow smile spread over his face, nostrils flaring slightly as he took in breath and signaled to the waiter that their meal was over.]
[She noticed that her response took him off-guard, and she couldn't help but smile a bit at his reaction. As if it'd taken him a moment to realize she'd given him a yes.]
I would. We're already here. And from what you've told me, it sounds really nice.
[As Lucifer had booked all of this under a tab with the hotel, the waiter came over with a tablet for Lucifer to sign, which he did with relish, adding on a generous tip for the mostly unobtrusive service.
Financial matters taken care of, he stood after carefully taking his foot back and moved over to offer her a hand, an air of anticipation like a static field around him.]
I took a look before I rented it. It's not the Lux, but it's certainly luxurious.
[She took his offered hand and damn her if there wasn't a spark between them, but she didn't let go of him. Standing up, she nodded politely to their waiter before twining their fingers together, feeling a whole world of things inside of her as she let her shoulder brush against his.]
Oh, I don't know if I want to lead. I haven't gotten a chance to see what this outfit looks like from behind.
[A grin, but it was softer, mostly because he was trying to piece together what all those strange sensations were. There was arousal, which he was familiar with, and that fondness he also had with her, but again, there was that intense aching expectation and a little anxiousness that she'd find him lacking.]
There's a pool on the patio, if you feel like cooling off with a swim.
[She smiled back and nudged him again with her shoulder, lingering for a moment longer this time before she went back to standing hand in hand with him. She noticed that softened look to his expression but couldn't pick up what he was feeling underneath it— after all, he hardly ever seemed unsure or anxious of anything he did. Much less this.]
Maybe later. Come on, let's go.
[Carefully, she stepped forward in the direction she assumed was the way to go, glancing over at him over her shoulder.]
[He took a moment. Just a moment to watch her swish away, those lovely hips swaying lightly before she looked back at him over her shoulder. There was a warmth that melted through him, like sunshine lighting him up on the inside, and he was moving before he realized he was, catching up to her and sliding his hand back in hers.]
As you wish, my dear. We're up in the penthouse.
[He pointed over at the elevators, feeling a feeling that most teenage boys felt when they were about to partake of something fun and naughty for the first time.]
[Fitting, she thought fleetingly, moving surely yet leisurely towards the elevators visible from across the room. Her thumb brushed along his hand as they walked, an easy kind of affection as she pictured them wrapped up in each other. It sent a shiver of anticipation down her spine, and maybe a hint of nerves. And excitement. Definitely, definitely excitement.
Especially once they reached the elevator after they'd weaved through the tables and various couples still enjoying their evening, her other hand hitting the call button and watching it glow softly to indicate that they were going up.]
[There was an electric energy between them, something he could almost feel, like some throbbing, aching presence. Or... maybe that was just his pants.
No... no. That was more than that particular throb and ache. As the elevator descended to them, he lifted a hand to barely slide it over those smooth, sleek strands.]
I never thought I'd enjoy looking at someone so much until I met you.
[She felt him there, unobtrusive but obviously present, those soft silky strands brushing across his hand as she turned to smile at him. The entire tone and air to their night had changed, what once was a breezy and teasing atmosphere turning into something a little more charged, a bit more tentative and heavy.]
You've been alive since the dawn of time.
[The barest of objections, not so much meant to accuse him otherwise but more of an observation. But she could say the same to him. Until I met you applied to so many things between them.
The elevator made a quiet ding before the doors slid open, and she carefully tugged at him to guide him inside with her.]
[He let her take his hand, let her draw him into the small space as he turned to press the button to their floor. Then he gave her his full attention.]
I have. I've seen... well. Almost everything, I imagine. And yet you still surprise me. You have me excited in more than just the physical aspect of... us. I love watching you, seeing how your mind works. Watching you feel things. I've always liked humans, but you are special. You make me feel alive.
[She listened to him quietly, some small part of her recognizing how close they were and how the empty space of the elevator made his voice seem louder, more clear. Or maybe she was just hanging on every word. Either way, she stood there with him as the elevator slowly climbed to their destination, her heart beating so loud in her chest she's sure he could hear it if he listened.]
Well. Consider me honored that after everything you've seen of the universe, I'm still able to give you something new and worth experiencing. You deserve to feel that way all the time.
[The elevator wasn't even halfway up to their floor when he stepped in, a hand sliding around her waist. The boots gave her a little more height, something he adjusted to as he pulled her in flush against himself.]
And what do you think you deserve to feel, Detective?
Is this supposed to be some clever way to get me to reveal my deepest, darkest desires?
[She was used to craning her neck to look at him, so the added height momentarily jarred her as his face came directly into her view. She could feel the warmth of him through their clothes, the weight of his fingers resting against her waist as he pulled her in towards him. Her heart continued to race at his question, a small smile lifting the corners of her lips as her hands drifted up to touch his face.]
Right now, I'm just going with this.
[She tried to guide his face toward her, lips hovering over his as she leaned in to kiss him.]

This is me ignoring you now.

Oh, I think I'll be fine. Now, would you like dancing or dessert?
