[As if to emphasize, she picked off a large bite and plopped it in her mouth. Maybe to give herself more time. And then, shaking her head and rolling her eyes at herself, because really, Decker, she spoke.]

There might've been a Devil theme involved.

[He pouted at her across the table until she relented. Barely. He rolled his eyes, pointing a finger at her across the table.]

Spit it out, woman. Or I'll not tell you the one I had.

Funny, I think I'd be able to live with that.

[Reaching across the table, she gripped that accusatory finger in hers and glanced back down at her plate.]

Horns. You had horns.

[He opened his mouth to say something, then paused.]

You pictured me with horns?

[He wasn't entirely sure how to feel about that. On the one hand, perhaps it was her subconscious trying to tell her that he was what he was. On the other, was that... good? Were horns sexy?]

Was it... ah... bad?

No.

[She has to admit, she's a little surprised his first reaction wasn't to laugh at her and tell her that of course her dream was ridiculous because he didn't actually have horns, Detective, we've been over this.]

Opposite of bad. Which is why it was weird.

[She looked like she still wasn't telling him everything, but really now, did he have to know all the nitty gritty details?]

Are you saying you liked the horns?

[Oh. Well. There was that smile now.]

You like the idea of bedding the Devil? Oh, love. I can't make the horns a reality, but I can certainly give you something wicked.

[Yeah. Yeah, Lucifer. It was like that.]

[A waggle of his brows, then he lifted up out of his chair enough to lean in and press a kiss to her hand before sitting again, still holding her if she let him.]

What do you want in bed, mm? You don't quite seem the rough and tumble type. No candles either.

[She did let him, letting her thumb trail over his knuckles as she tossed him a look as if he was being odd again.]

Why, you want a whole checklist right here and now at the dinner table?

If you like. I can wait, though. I've waited this long.

[The look he gave her was almost dreamy, something fond and sweet and a smile that was just that little naughty at the edges as he looked at her across the table.]

If you did, I'd have to see how many I could cross off for you in a night.

[Oh, she liked that smile, and especially how it always seemed to reach his eyes. That genuine glee there. It made her want to put it there more often, to never see it leave.]

Why a night? You in a rush or something?

To have you? ... Maybe more than I thought I was. But I do like the idea of making a game of it. It should be fun, shouldn't it.

[And maybe there was a part of him that wanted it to be more than just fun, but he still wasn't entirely sure what else sex could be like. what sex with someone you loved could be like.]

Sure. But I also don't need it to be jam-packed with you trying to fulfill all my wildest fantasies or anything. I'm not looking for anything specific, other than just being with you. Everything else can wait.

[She had her own wants and needs like anyone else. But she wasn't looking for the smooth, suave Devil who wanted to give her her deepest desires. She wanted to enjoy him, especially for their first time together.]

Everything else? My, my, Chloe. What do you have in mind?

[He was teasing, but his thumb traced over her fingers, smile deepening as his head tilted down. He looked down at her plate and saw she wasn't nearly done, letting go of her hand with a regretful sigh.]

I should behave myself for a little while longer. I did promise you a lovely meal, and I have a feeling this is better hot than tepid.

Obviously I'm telling you to keep your whips and chains at the door.

[The teasing lilt came out easily enough as she followed his lead, feeling satisfied with that smile. Though she felt a brief, silly pang of regret when he pulled away.]

Really? I thought this was you behaving.

[She threw him a wink before moving back to finish her meal.]

By the skin of my teeth.

[And because he wasn't to be outdone and they were in such a sharing mood...]

You've no idea how much I want to crawl under the table and have my dessert now.

[Said with a pining sigh as he stabbed another piece of meat and ate it.]

Lucifer.

[That earned him an incredulous, slightly embarrassed look, a faint red blooming over her cheeks. Her feet nudged him under the table again, this time in a warning before she noticed a waiter nearby.

She flagged him down, gesturing at her date.]

Could we get some water, please? He's feeling a bit thirsty tonight.

[The waiter gave them both a look before walking off to get said beverages.]

[Lucifer didn't look the slightest bit ashamed. If anything, he had a proud look as he reached for his wine and took another sip.]

Oh, I don't think I'm the only one that needs to quench their thirst.

[And because apparently the game had shifted to trying to shock her, he twirled the stem of the glass casually, looking down at it as he spoke.]

Making it to the elevator without drawing attention is going to be a task, what with me being completely erect at the moment.

[She shook her head and went back to eating her food. Don't give the children attention when they're misbehaving and all.]

This is me ignoring you now.

You weren't ignoring me the other night. And parts of me remember that.

[Still playing with his wine, he was enjoying watching her pull that 'I'm too prudish for this chat' wall down, all the while knowing that she decidedly wasn't.]

[She opened her mouth to speak when their waiter came back, pouring them each a glass of water and making sure Lucifer's was filled to the top. Giving them each a look before leaving again.]

Uh huh. Though to be fair, it's not really difficult to get those parts of you going.

Certainly not around you.

[He ignored the waiter, because Chloe was the important part of this conversation. He looked at the glass, snickering as he took a bite of his meal again.]

What can I say, love? All my parts are enamored of you.

[Lobbed back at him easily enough, because while she knew giving him the attention he so craved might've only been asking for more, she was genuinely having a good time. And expecting Lucifer not to be wholly inappropriate at the dinner table was like asking a fish not to swim.]

[An innocent look there as his lips closed over his fork again.]

Oh, so that's the nickname we're giving it.

[He thought he was so cute. She threw him a smile, shaking her head at him before taking another bite and realizing she didn't have much left.]
