Still, the idea of him being mildly offended at the mere suggestion was both thoroughly confusing and yet oddly hilarious. She eyed him for a moment, assessing him and that admission before she snorted incredulously.]

[She should know by now that he had absolutely no shame. If she wanted him to, he'd drop trow then and there and finish their meal nude while talking about all the things he'd like to do to her. He picked up his glass and took a sip before answering.]

Why would I? One wanks because one can't partake of something with someone else, yes? Generally, I can. It's only recently that my needs have been... unseen. Though, considering I'd be thinking of you if I ever did, I'm wondering if that's not what you're looking for...?

I just wouldn't've expected that from you. You're always all about indulgence and doing whatever you think is fun that the idea of that being the one thing you choose not to do is just surprising, honestly.

[The mention of his 'unseen needs' catches her attention, though, along with the rest of that statement. She raises her brows at him, an open look of confusion on her face.]

[She peered at him a bit dubiously over the rim of her glass.]

Well, if we happen to use the accommodations here, then yes. Champagne. Rose petals on silk sheets. Scented candles. Chocolate covered strawberries. I insisted it was incredibly indulgent.

Wow. I can see that.

[There's something in her expression as she watches him from across the table; certainly surprise, but also something a little softer. More open. Possibly something close to touched.]

I know you like to indulge as it is, but you do know you didn't have to go through all of that trouble, right?

I don't have to do anything. I want to. I'm not going to say that I don't hope there's sex tonight. I do. Very much so. But if there's not, I'll still enjoy the evening because it's with you.

[A pause as he sipped his wine again.]

I may have to buy stock in ice or invent some groin-freeze, but I'll still enjoy myself.

[A soft chuckle at that, not at his expense but out of fondness for him. He really knew how to surprise her sometimes.]

I know. I didn't expect otherwise. If that was all you were here for, I wouldn't've said yes. But for the record, I'm not not planning for it to happen. I'd like to. Hopefully the groin-freeze can be left for another desperate person to create.

I've found it something that's come in handy lately. You do have a habit of causing blue balls -- not that I'm blaming you for it. You're attractive and I respond to that. I'm just... well. It was easier when I could relieve that pressure.

[He finished his wine, reaching to refill his glass and looking over at hers.]

[She knew what he felt for her. To use his words, she wasn't a moron. She understood that this was not just some sexual escapade for him. Maybe it had been in the beginning; a challenge he wanted to overcome. A game he could play. But then there was him and his confession about what he's done with her this whole time without even knowing. Protecting her, dying for her more than once just so that she could be safe. It was unquestionable, this thing between them.

Even so, she's touched, and it shows.]

And you wouldn't... mind that? In the long run, I mean. I've heard you say yourself that monogamy isn't exactly a concept you're keen on.

[She held out her glass silently for him to refill, while he was holding the bottle.]

I'm not used to it. It's not something I've ever tried before. I've never wanted to. Not like the Devil has fluffy feelings for someone every millennium. But I'd be an idiot not to try. I... this is something real. And I want to see what it could be.

[Refilling her glass, he set the bottle down and reached for his drink to sip, eyeing her over the rim with a smirk before he set it down.]

Not really, no. I like being aroused by you, and it happens so easily.

Well, I know I can't hold a candle to you in terms of age or experiences, but... this whole thing? Between us? It's not something I'm used to either. I meant what I said before when I told you you make me vulnerable. I'm not like that with anyone else. And that's both terrifying and kind of comforting, when I really think about it. So, I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm glad you feel that way, because I do too.

[If his hand was close enough, she might've reached for it. Good thing she had her own glass to fiddle with instead.]

[Hearing her talk like that about them had something warm and tingly building inside him. And something that was... oddly possessive. Odd, because Lucifer loved to share. His penthouse was generally open to whomever wanted to come in, and before Chloe, so was his bed. He gave away money like it was nothing, and he had almost no cognizance of boundaries when it came to people he knew and liked. He liked to be admired and he liked to have fun. He also liked others to have fun and spread that around as often as he could. And yet... he was feeling a strange sense of territorial jealousy when it came to Chloe. 'The lady is spoken for', came to mind, but even here, the idea that she might find herself interested in someone else didn't sit well with him when with any other partner, he'd likely advocate more fun, more experimentation, more... more.

So it was both a blessing and a curse to hear her echo his own thoughts. Odd, that. The devil feeling genuinely jealous.]

Mm, I like the idea of you punishing me.

[He was sitting up to lean closer, stopping when a pair of plates came closer, set in front of them with quick and quiet precision before the waiter discreetly made himself scarce.]

Ah, good. Our lizard chicken. Looks tasty.

Right on time.

[She'd noticed him leaning in and had begun to do the same when the waiter dropped in to present their food, which had her drawing back into her seat with a coy little smile. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to have that kind of discussion or interaction after they'd eaten.

Still, she allowed herself to nudge him from under the table with her foot in a teasing kind of acknowledgment before she went about trying her lizard chicken. She chewed thoughtfully for a moment before letting out a low noise of satisfaction.]

That's actually not bad. What do you think?

[He felt that nudge, grinning over at her as he let his foot settle against hers, lifting hers a little towards him under the table while he cut off a piece and chewed it thoughtfully.]

Not bad. I'd have to have a bad piece to see if there's a way to muck it up, or maybe try making it myself to see what the base flavor is, but I like the subtle seasoning. Succulent, which can be hard for white meat. something juicy that you just want to drew out the flavor on for a good long while...

[Was he talking about the food, or was he perhaps using the opportunity to flirt? Perhaps both.]

[She caught that, no perhaps about it. Especially when coupled with the positioning of their legs and how he drew her closer in subtle invitation. It was more uncoordinated than she'd like, considering she was wearing boots, but it was easy to brush her foot up along the side of his calf.]

I didn't realize you liked to cook. Figured you more for an eating out or personal chef kind of guy. I like the seasoning on this too, though. Not too overpowering, but there's definitely a burst of flavor right at the end. Bit of a pleasant surprise from what you'd expect just looking at it.

[Excuse you, Chloe, but he was a fabulous cook. He never did anything half-assed, and cooking was no exception.

Neither was seduction, or his attempt at it as he tucked his chair a bit closer to the table to give him room to let her slide her leg up a bit further -- if she wanted.]

Though, I certainly do enjoy eating out...

[He bit his lip, looking up at her with that cheeky smile to let her know exactly what he meant.]

Delicious is a bit suspect, considering I never got the opportunity to actually try it.

[She'd been in such a hurry kicking him out of her house and all. For all she knew, it could be terrible.

At the quiet sound of his chair scuttling forward, she grinned and shook her head at him, but carefully moved her leg up just a bit higher. She was grateful for the dimmed lights and cover of the table cloth.]

Yeah, I kind of got that hint. Since you keep bringing up how much you love it and all. I'm not entirely convinced you're not all talk.
