[She grimaced at the 'backside' comment, having half a mind to reach over and try to take that phone from him after all.]

Casually making sure I was well is all well and good. The picture-taking without me knowing? Not okay. Please don't do that again.

[It's a good thing he'd tucked his phone away from deleting fingers, patting it in place as he looked over at her.]

I wanted something to remember you by. In case you... Well. In case it went the other way. And I never did get to see you in your uniform back home.

[She sighed and shook her head, though she couldn't hide the soft smile gracing her features as she held his hand in return.]

[Guess who looked entirely too pleased with themselves? This guy.

And that look didn't go away as the car pulled up to the curb in front of a rather swanky looking hotel. The door was opened and Lucifer moved to get out, shooing away the valet standing there and holding his hand out for Chloe to come with him.]

[She bit her lip as he shooed the poor man away, feeling it twitch up in amusement. She may have said he wasn't cute, but he was doing this with so much obvious enjoyment and excitement that she found it rubbing off on her.

Alright. So he's a little adorable. Sue her.

She took his hand, using him as a guide as she scooted out of the car.]

Did you strike some deal to get us booked here too?

I may have inquired as to whether there was a room available, should one be needed at some point.

[He drew her to her feet, kissing her hand before lowering it to keep it in his, leading her up towards the hotel proper.]

I'm sure there's a free rooftop or stairwell should they not have any openings.

[Said breezily as she followed after him, doing her best to keep a straight face.]

[He laughed, nudging her with his shoulder before the reached the door, which was helpfully held open for them.]

Minx. I almost have a feeling you'd prefer that.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

[She nudged him back, an easy brush of her shoulder against his as her fingers tightened around him. Once inside, she took note of the elegant decor, the dimmed lighting, the quiet murmur of voices as people went about their evening, some of them couples smiling and drinking wine as they enjoyed themselves.

She knew Maze liked to tease her about not getting laid in awhile, but it'd been... a long time since she's had much of anything after her separation with Dan. It's nice, just being here with him. As one of the waiters directed them to their table, she glanced over at his face, a warm kind of fondness resting in her breast at the sound of his laughter.]

I haven't been to a place like this in a long time.

[And no, she didn't count their failed date back in LA.]

You should go anywhere you please. No reason for it to have to be a date, if you just want to enjoy the ambiance. I never did understand why there were all these rules to follow when you could just... do as you please because you wanted to.

[Still, it was nice to see that look on her face, and that it was directed at him because he was making her happy. They were led to their table and he drew out her seat for her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head when she was seated before he went to his own.]

Wine? Or would you prefer champagne?

Ah, but it's hard to just find the time or justification for it when you've got a kid waiting for you at home. Besides, while I technically could just come to places like this on my own, it's not quite the same without company.

[Him and his easy way of living. It caused her such exasperation at times and gentle admiration during others. Nevertheless, she did have responsibilities, but she didn't have to think about those right now. Not tonight. Almost regretfully, she let his hand slide away from hers as he went to take his seat, covertly brushing it along her skirt.]

Mm. Wine would be nice.

[He whispered something to the waiter, then slid a menu over to her.]

Something like a blush? That should go well with whatever you like on the menu.

[He picked up his own menu, taking a look before peeking at her over the top of it.]

You do look utterly ravishing tonight, Chloe. I truly hope you enjoy yourself.

[Someone looking on might've found them either ridiculous or adorable, depending on their perspective, if they were watching them peeking at each other over their menus.

She smiled at him, having a difficult time focusing on the selections. He's complimented her for the what? Fourth, fifth time?]

I already am. You look smooth and great as usual. Is that a new suit, by the way?

It is. All of them are here. I was fortunate enough to find someone with skill in tailoring close enough to what I'm used to. Not like they're familiar with Armani or Kiton here. But I think they did well enough. I'm pleased you like it. I'll have to get a few more.

[Lucifer didn't give a rat's ass what anyone else was thinking of them. At that moment, all that mattered was her and her enjoyment. And so far, it seemed she was actually having a good time.]

[Soon enough, their waiter arrived with their wine, pouring them each a glass before sitting them on the table.]

It sounds like you've already found a bunch of connections here. Not that I'd expect any less from someone who set up an entire identity and such a successful nightclub from scratch in five years.

[A wink, because clearly Lucifer was still in little shit mode.]

Well, I've been around the block a few times. Identities aren't hard when you know the people who can get you the right paperwork. Same idiot that helped out Malcolm when he tried to slither away. Every city's got an underbelly, love. LA's is just predictable.
