[She put her phone down, a ridiculous little smile on her face as she went about getting ready for the evening. Hopefully they'd have a successful night for once.]

[For the rest of the day, Lucifer would be in a rather giddy mood, grooming and preening himself along with double checking that everything was as it should be. He'd made reservations for both dinner and a car to drive them, having poked around and found the place that seemed to win the consensus of 'most romantic restaurant in the city'. It wasn't quite the same as LA standards, but it would have to do for their purposes.

Humming to himself, he was at the door to the communal room she shared at five to seven, knocking with one hand hidden behind his back.]

[Her mood was similar, though there was a note of apprehension there as she went about deciding what to wear. And honestly, considering the predicament they were in, it felt a little ridiculous for her to be doing something as mundane as going on a date. But it also wasn't a date with just anyone, and this felt... needed, somehow. Necessary. Or maybe that was just her hormones getting the best of her, which were apparently throwing her back into her ridiculous teenager stage. In a stairwell, honestly.

Nevertheless, she figured that since he enjoyed all the pomp and making a spectacle, she may as well dress for the occasion. Dinner and dancing included. So when she opened the door, she was prepared, a smile touching her lips as she greeted him.]

Hi.

[She truly was a miracle -- capable of making the Devil speechless as she opened the door and showed him, once again, that she could rival the stars themselves for how lovely she could look. He stared for a moment, caught off guard in the most pleasant of ways before he snapped back to himself, hand coming out from behind his back to hand her a single rose, eyes caught on her as he did.]

Hello. You look... utterly ravishing.

You clean up pretty well yourself.

[A small, almost sheepish smile while she dipped her head down at his compliment. Though once she saw him pull something from behind his back, she glanced up in surprise at his gift, another smile lighting her face as she accepted it gratefully.]

It's beautiful. Thank you. I'd... invite you inside, but figured we'd both rather head out.

Mm?

[He'd been distracted from staring at her, looking up at her blankly before he was brought back to reality. Then he smiled, turning a little and offering her his arm.]

Yes, yes. Of course. There's a car downstairs. I, ah, we could take the lift-- where did you get those boots? They're... well. They're very nice.

[She had smashing legs, and that short skirt was making that a very obvious fact.]

Where did you get the money for a car?

[If he got that well-paid in PI work, then perhaps she should consider a change in career. Either way, she took his offered arm, sidling up alongside him as they made their smalltalk. Their awkward, first date jitters and giddiness smalltalk.]

Yeah, I— there was this little shop nearby and I— thanks. We, uh. The lift is fine.

Well, it was a little more tit for tat, but don't worry, none of the favors exchanged were sexual.

[She took his arm and he felt like puffing out his chest -- not realizing that was exactly what he was doing. Walking with her over to the lift, he pressed the call button and waited, watching her just because, well, it was an incredible view.]

Bravo for the little shop that could. You look stunning. I almost don't want to go anywhere but upstairs, just so I can look at you for the whole evening.

Thanks for that bit of clarification.

[Said a bit dryly because really, Lucifer. While they hadn't technically put a name to their... thing, or even clarified that they were both exclusive, it'd been an assumption she'd been happy to have. Or just avoid altogether, honestly.

She did notice that little extra spring in his step, though, and she couldn't help but find it adorable.]

Generally, one can look at each other while eating dinner and dancing too. Unless you meant without my clothes on, in which case, I didn't really have to go through all the trouble, did I?

[A soft laugh, and a lift of his brows paired with a shrug before the doors dinged open and he gestured for her to precede him.]

I meant as is, love. You... well. I don't get to see you like this, and it's a very good look. I like you with your hair down. You look like some sort of... sleek, sexiness that--

[He stopped himself, realizing where he was going with that.]

You look lovely. I hope you enjoy what I have planned.

I know. I'm teasing you, Lucifer.

[Though honestly, if they had gotten distracted, she might not've minded all that much. But this was just as well, and she took his suggestion and she stepped inside the lift, hands gripping at the railings just so she had something to do with them.]

What do you have planned, anyhow? I know you said dinner and dancing, but where did you end up choosing?

Mm? Oh, well, there's a rather classy upscale hotel that apparently has a four-star relative rating for the restaurant. All posh and upscale and I hear incredibly romantic. Not to mention someone told me the French Silk pie was worth the meal alone, and while it's no chocolate cake, I figure the Decker women might all share the same sweet tooth.

That... may be a fair assumption.

[She grinned, shrugging as if to throw a casual spin on that, but he wasn't wrong. Her hand tentatively slid over to his, one of her fingers carefully nudging at him.]

Sounds like a great time. Thank you for putting it all together. I'm glad we finally got to do this. Even if it's kind of a weird situation overall.

[He was quick to wind their fingers together, happily taking any little opening she gave him as the lift descended six floors down before opening. He again gestured for her to precede him, partway, since he wasn't letting go of her hand.]

I'll take weird over nothing happening at all. Waiting for the 'right' moment would mean going home, and depending on how long that takes... well. Sooner is better.

I would prefer going home to be sooner than not, but this... this in itself is good.

[She liked the idea of them strengthening their partnership. Moving forward. Moving to something better, which seemed to be on the horizon as she led him by the hand outside of the lift, gesturing towards the door that'd show them outside. Her other hand held onto that rose he'd given her, a lovely shade of red and black that matched her dress.]

Speaking of which, how have you been? Settling in and all.

I'm adaptable. I can fit in anywhere, love. Never worry about me.

[His free hand held the door open, the other holding hers so they could make their way outside into the evening that had a sun still up, but threatening to set in the next couple hours to give them a more secluded feeling to their evening. The car waited down below, driver by the door that he opened as they exited the building.]

[The car acquired just for them seemed like a bit much, but she wasn't going to protest it. It was a nice gesture for him to go out and do that, though she did feel just a little awkward sliding into the back as the door shut behind her. She was used to driving herself.]

It's less that I'm worried and more that I'm interested, you know.

I've been popping up at the police station here. Seems the same as any other, and just as willing to allow me the same freedoms as yours. Perhaps I'll have to slip by and visit you at work sometime. Bring you lunch, mm?

[They settled in their seats and the driver went around to get in the car, the vehicle taking off from the curb with a soft purr of its engine.]

Really? I haven't seen you around. Though I guess that makes sense, since I'm back in the blue uniform.

[Something she didn't wholly mind, though it was strange to be back in a position she'd left a long time ago. Carefully, she crossed one of her legs over the other. Mostly for her own benefit. Mostly.]

You don't have to bring me anything. Unless it's your own lunch. We could eat together.

Mm, I know. I've seen you around. Taken a few pictures to look at later, too.

[He'd stopped by, yes. To see how she was doing. And yes, take pictures. She crossed her leg over the other and his eyes were drawn to the motion -- where they stayed.]

I could do that. Will do that. Yes. Lunch is good.

What? You did not. You're kidding, right?

[Super creep factor, Lucifer. Don't do that.]

Why didn't you come over and bug me like you usually do?

Of course I did.

[And he even pulled out his phone to show her the pictures he'd snapped of her in her uniform.]

You look adorable. How could I pass that up? But you also looked busy and... well. It was during... before... You needed time, and I was giving it to you.

So instead you just snapped pictures of me while I wasn't looking. Great.

[She waved at him to take the phone away, not needing to see any more of the evidence.]

Lucifer, for future reference? Taking creep shots isn't exactly an attractive quality. Just saying.
